  Dirt Fishing - Latest Coin Finds

  it's that time of year again when i can get back on the fields with the metal detector looking for ancient stuff.

  the first field to be harvested was full of peas - ideal as it leaves no stubble and it's a two minute walk from my house.

  it has given up two coins in two visits this week.. the first one is a cut-half silver penny from the reign of henry ii.

  Hello Kenny.

  First of all, well done for being brave enough to seek out help on a difficult situation. 15 is not an easy age to cope with.

  Right now the rejection you feel might hurt a lot but I promise you that in a few years time you will think back to now and laugh. Your young mind is having to take on the onslaught of the feelings of adulthood for the first time.

  Secondly, don't take this girl's rejection personally. She is rejecting your age, not you.

  To put things in perspective, she is 19 and you are 15. The equivalent circumstances would be an 8 year old girl getting the hots for you and asking you out. Not such an attractive thought is it...

  The reason you would not be interested in an 8 year old would be due to her age, and nothing to do with her as a person.

  It is the same for the girl you are interested in. 19 is a world apart from your age, and as has been mentioned, girls that age will be looking for men a few years older than she is, because girls mature quicker than boys.

  Lastly, the best advice to get over your feelings for this girl is time. I'm sure she will continue to melt your heart every time you see her, but facing those feelings and learning to cope with them is going to help you deal with the next stages in your life. Now is a great time to start learning these coping skills.

  What might help is looking for girls your own age. Just don't be in a rush. You have so much to learn about yourself right now, and you are still changing. The kind of girls you like at your age now might not be the kind of girls you will like in the future.

  Feelings are tough to deal with. It's going to get harder too. Use this opportunity now to grow. You won't regret it.

  Leave it to those who enjoy the royal occasion.

  It is quite perplexing why Americans seem to be so smitten with the royal family.

  So they make a huge deal of the harmless pursuit of inappropriate pillow positioning...

  ...yet they hardly mention the harm and the risk that some adult members pose to children if they fail to control their sexual urges.

  Conspicuous by their absence are the videos made by the Watchtower that warn Jehovah's Witnesses of the dangers of inappropriate contact with children, something that causes real harm and suffering.

  They certainly do gulp down the camel.

  If they spent as much time dealing with the real issues of paedophilia (especially considering the harmful effects of the ridiculous two witness rule) as they do addressing the harmless habits of their younger members, the Watchtower would have a lot less to answer for.

  one of the most common "defences" of jw organization is that "the brothers" are imperfect yet still strive to follow god's word.

  "sure, they make mistakes," so the argument goes, "but so did god's people in the past, including in bible times.

  " the key point is their readiness to keep studying god's word and learning from their mistakes.".

  If the GB speculate about fundamental doctrines and err, they are just zealous imperfect men trying their best, and the flock should be patient and understanding without murmuring.

  If the Rank & File so much as speculate about any doctrine, they are 'running ahead of God's organisation' and subject to disciplinary action, and unless they repent, they will be cast out of the congregation.

  If I'm not mistaken, that is known as a double standard.

  i don't usually like the confrontational approach to those on the carts, however this video is a great example of how jws do not really care about child abuse issues!.

  the arrogance of this brother is disturbing..... bear with the video.

  I can't help wondering if the JW had some kind of guilt regarding child abuse himself, considering his appalling reaction to the subject.

  Deliberately coughing in the man's face was disgraceful behaviour. I don't know how that sister could just sit there and not say a word about how rude and offensive the JW was acting, regardless of the provocation.

  in the movie the wizard of oz, while the whole yellow brick road gang was being addressed by the great and powerful wizard of oz, the dog toto ran off to the side, pulled back on a curtain, and showed that a normal-looking humbug of a person was operating cranks and levers.

  for a short while, the normal-looking man kept yanking levers and cranking cranks, and said into the microphone (which made the great and powerful wizard speak the same words) "pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!
